Two members of the research group graduated this spring.  Dr. Bethany Potter successfully completed their defense, Lithic Analysis Methodological Applications and Advances: Case Studies from Late Pleistocene North America (shown below). Dr. Potter will be heading to KU’s Geology Department as a postdoc working with Dr. Rolfe Mandel at Bluefish Caves in the Yukon.

Undergraduate Researcher Emily Ward (shown below) graduated from KU with a B.A. in Anthropology and Political Science.  She received the Dennis R. & Nancy Ann Dahl Anthropology Outstanding Thesis Award for her thesis on shifting domesticates.  Emily is headed to Texas State University for a Master’s in biological anthropology.

Several of our graduate researchers received awards for their work.  Vannah Hay, Lydia Sykora, and Sarah Unkel received the Carroll D Clark Summer Graduate Research Award. Shawna Fitzwater was the recipient of the Michael H Crawford Award in Biological Anthropology.
