2026 KU Center for Genomics Research Symposium

 

 

On May 8, 2026, the KU Center For Genomics hosted the 5th annual Research Symposium at the Jayhawk Welcome Center.  KU anthropology was represented by 3 graduate researchers (Sarah Unkel, Emily Winnicki, and Shawna Fitzwater) and 1 undergraduate researcher (Emily DeGruson) with poster presentation. Vannah Hay received a Best Flash Talk Award for her podium presentation.

 

Graduate researcher Savannah Hay (center) received a Best Flash Talk Award for her presentation from Dr. Felipe Teixeira (postdoctural researcher and symposium organizer and Dr. Rob Unckless (director of KUCG).
Postdoctoral researchers and staff, including KU AnthGen researchers, make up the bulk of volunteers that organize the Symposium every year.
