A group of KU researchers attended the American Association of Biological Anthropologists annual meetings, including two new genomics faculty Obed Garcia and Kelsey Jorgensen.  The rest of the group includes Jennifer Raff, Kristine Beaty, Savannah Hay, and Dennis O’Rourke.   Graduate student Savannah Hay presented her work examining the histories of ancient Aleutian Islanders.

Graduate Researcher Vanna Hay presented at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) meeting in Denver, Colorado. Vanna has been studying the impact of colonization on the living Unangax of the Aleutian Islands. Drs. Kristine Beaty and Justin Tackney joined Vanna to represent the lab group at ASHG.
